Guitar Experience Students Performing at New London's Garde Theater

Parents Say:

"Thank you for another year of wonderful music and being a wonderful role model"

"And wow, look how much you've taught him!  It makes us so happy every day.  And guitar makes him happy every day!"

"Thank you for the wonderful opportunity that allowed Luke to perform for the Pendleton residents. He was very pleased with himself as was his father and I.  The guitar performance by your talented students became, for my family, an event to share amongst friends and strangers the meaning of Christmas."

About the Guitar Experience

Our classes for young people from five through high school are held at the United Church of Stonington, 67 Main St.  The cost is reasonable, the first class is free and we have some free loaner guitars you can take home for a few weeks. Students learn a song at their first class and many of  them stay with the program  from lower grades right through high school.

Lou Manzi - Instructor/Director

Lou Manzi has a BA in Music and has been a music teacher all of his adult life. He’s written eleven guitar instruction books and appeared on many instructional DVD and online lessons. He was honored to have written a guitar curriculum for the Boys and Girls Club of America and has appeared at Boston’s House of Blues, NYC’s B.B. King’s Blues Club and the legendary Bluebird Café in Nashville.

Fun Facts!

Lou’s upbeat approach makes his classes fun for students and parents who sit in  during each session. He stresses proper technique as kids learn  Rock, Country, Blues and Classical styles. Each year the kids play a Christmas and Halloween show and play at Mystic's Cabin Fever Festival. They’ve also often played at senior facilities, town fairs, libraries and special patriotic events to honor our veterans.
